As the most serious economic crisis since the Second World War takes hold across the planet, one concept is on everyone's lips, now at the centre of the political game : sovereignty. Sovereignty in terms of health, food, digital and above all industrial sovereignty. The French government has made it the major axis of its economic recovery plan, presented as a vast operation to win back the country. But, after thirty years of exacerbated globalisation, is it not already too late? Does France still have the means to fulfil its ambitions ? What might be the price of this sovereignty ? From Daher workers in the Loir-et-Cher to Renault subcontractors in Romania, from the made-in-France soya fields in the Hautes-Pyrénées to the resurrected knitting mills in Troyes, this documentary takes us behind the scenes of the greatest economic battle of the early 21st century. It is a battle with ecological dimensions, but also European dimensions, when it is a question of imposing oneself against the American and Chinese giants.
